A movie-full holiday and new semester

28 July 2008, 8:54 pm. View comments. Filed under Holiday, Miscellaneous, School.

It was rushing a criminal essay during the last week of my three-week semester "break" and cutting the number of words from 2870 down to the maximum of 1800 the night before deadline (actually went down to 1798 woot).

And it's movies and anime to welcome the pile of work to get started on. In order of movies watched:

  1. ****(*) Flushed Away: very, very cute adventures of mice.
  2. *(*)(*)(*)(*) The Comebacks: fucking gay and wrong in every single way possible. The 1 point is for being so bad that I could better concentrate on my work rather than watching it.
  3. ***** Ratatouille: absolutely godly! Cute genius definitely.
  4. ***(*)(*) In the name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale: some mock-Lord of the Rings-ish thing.
  5. ****(*) Devil Wears Prada: watched it for the second time. I love the pretty dresses.
  6. ****(*) One Piece: only watched four episodes so far. It's good, but I still like Bleach better.
  7. ***** Enchanted: creative, beautiful, happy, simply great, great, great!

I've never watched so many movies in such little time. In addition, I also watched four movies in the cinema during the short break:

  1. ****(*) 21: I liked it for the smart students but it was much too kiddish cheating, highly unrealistic for Las Vegas casinos.
  2. ***(*)(*) The Incredible Hulk: other than the admirable digitally-created green giant itself, the plot and ending is by far worse than the previous Hulk movie.
  3. ***** Kung-Fu Panda: so incredibly cute and funny, I like the strong links to actual Chinese history on martial arts. A must-watch!
  4. ***(*)(*) Hancock: very average. Funny etc. in the middle but ending wasn't anywhere near good. I repeat: very average.

Now just waiting for the bumhole New Zealand cinemas to hurry their arses up to get "Wanted" and "Wall-E" out!

I myself am a huge film buff. And while I was on vacation Wanted and Wall-E were two movies that I was waiting to see as well. I'm sure you'll both enjoy them, I know I did.

I saw Enchanted before. It was a cute movie. The singing got on my nerves though lol.

I loooove Ratatouille and Kung Fu Panda! They're my favorite animated movies along with Finding Nemo (yes, I was a deprived child, so I never got to see all that many cartoony movies when I was little). The Devil Wears Prada was good, too, but Anne Hathaway got on my nerves.

I've recently been watching tons of movies, too, including Enchanted, Ratatouille, and Wall-E. Enchanted was good, but Ratatouille and Wall-E were WAAAYYY UP THERE. And if you likd Ratatouille, I can guarantee that you'll LOVE Wall-E!

I definitely agree with you on 21, Hancock and Enchanted. The first two being ok but not super great...and Enchanted being lovely! :D I must be one of the only people who hasn't seen Ratatouille yet...I guess I need to. XD

Out of your list I haven't watched any. I don't go to theaters unless it is LOTR or Harry Potter, lol. But I want to watch Kung Fu Panda, Wall-E, & Hancock but I am waiting until they come out on DVD to rent. I would rather watch them at home in my pjs and in silence then in the theater with people that don't know how to keep quiet. In my area people's manners are horrible in movie theaters.

I didn't like Ratatouille or Enchanted that much, and The Devil Wears Prada deserves a GAZILLION stars. Kung-Fu Panda was also amazing.. a gazillion stars to that too!!

And seriously, PLEASE GO SEE WANTED AND WALL-E. More so Wanted than Wall-E. WANTED WANTED WANTED!!!!

LOL... maximum word limits =( cutting down 1000 words is pretty damn impressive lol.
That's a lotta movies. I CAN'T WAIT FOR WANTED AND WALL-E EITHER. Well, more for Wanted. Still another 2 days here. CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT.
I might go see some of the other cartoon ones too like Kungfu Panda and Flushed Away... I didn't see them in cinema because I thought it might've been the lame kiddie cartoon movies. Maaaybe not huh? =P

Thanks for awarding Devil Wears Prada generously with stars! It's one of the best chick-lit turned film thing ever ;) it's humourous and yet so true! I would love to watch Enchanted, but it was on the screen when I was having my finals last year... awww! Looks like I'll have to download or buy the DVD then.

I really outta see Kung-Fu Panda. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get to any movie theater; due to lack of transportation + money. *radiates sadness* Then there's the internet... hhmm. I'd prefer a theater experience though. xD

Either way, I've heard Wall-E was very good. My parents and siblings loved it when they seen it at home. :D I hope to see it soon myself~

One Piece just cracks me up, but I heard it was very long, so I haven't finished watching it. And I agree Bleach is greater than One Piece.

I didn't like Enchanted much, some parts of it I thought was really stupid and kind of dissapointing D: Although it was really creative and kind of cute~

I liked Ratatouille, Kungfu Panda and Devil Wears Prada! I preferred Stardust to Enchanted. Oh, I just watched The Dark Knight - I felt it was really really good.

One Piece gets better! Sooo, sooo much better. Things really start to pick up at Sanji's arc. So I say you just skip to episode 20 (you don't miss much). It's very character driven, and each story tops the previous. Which is more than I can say for a lot of series.

That's because One Piece makes life worth living =P I daresay it can replace chocolate.
