Law Ball 2008

I thought the theme for our Law ball this year sucked—"Ball of Zulu", a Safari theme. Not elegant and classy at all! But I must say, it turned out to be the best ball I've ever been to!
How it's different to the previous high school balls I've been to:
- All the girls were better dressed for some reason.
- No partner this year.
Don't have enough guy friends in law.
- Rather than looking at young, childish girls and boys, now it's maturer ladies and gentlemen.
- Our high school used to hold balls at the Auckland museum and the train station with bad-ass food. But the Law balls are sponsored by large law firms so we pay a lower price for a grand hotel and high quality food.
Three-course dinner beginning with the best smoked salmon entree I've ever had, moved on to an eye-fillet steak main, and finished with a luxurious dessert plate!
Best-dressed guy no doubt!
The gorrrrgeous girls of the night.
Indoors and outdoors!
And probably the best I've looked all year with my highly-complimented feather fascinator.
*is being vain and self-conceited*

First time I tried red lipstick all year and now I really like it. So I've moved on from the baby high school stuff, and uni is definitely better now. ![]()
Well except... When it comes to exams. I have lots of things to say, but I don't have the time to say, so if I blog any time more between now and 13 November, they'll have lots of phone camera pictures and little writing. No objections? And by that time I hope Obama would be the new controller of the world.

Wow, you look amazing!

I saw and heard bout the Law Ball on facebook through my law friends..
And, at the risk of making my world (online and off) even smaller, do you happen to know Rachel Soothow? -

You look amazing! And I was just thinking the other day that I missed you.

-

That dessert plate looks delicious. You looked great.
-

Waah you look so pretty... *envy envy* That red lipstick looks stunning in contrast to your black hair and dress! Also that food looks delicious! Glad you had fun!
Also, I too hope that Obama becomes president. o_o -

Aww thanks guys!
@Maggie: I've definitely seen her around! And we have 7 mutual friends on Facebook.
But I don't know her personally, no. -

YOU LOOK AWESOMEX10!! =)
The ball sounds definitely a heap more fun than highschool-y stuff too. I'm completely envious over the food, LOL. -

WOW! Is that you in those last two pictures? What a model! Especially the first picture. Awww, and the the guy sitting behind the "Best Dressed Guy" looks so pouty! He's very cute though! Heh!
-

Awww you are so look gorgeous! Love your fascinator and your dress, and just everything - including the crazy red lipstick. Very nice.

-

Wow, you look stunning! And you really pulled off that red lipstick well
So, do all the different departments at uni have their own balls? My friend was telling me about his engineering one last year, but I'd always wondered, do all the BA people go together? And what about people doing conjoints lol XD -

Amanda: Thanks! Nup only some departments have balls. But you don't have to be doing the course to go to that department's ball. I have this BCom/LLB friend who went to all of Med, Engineering and Law balls this year lol.

I could've sworn I already commented... ah well forgetful old me

Ahem... to be fair I'm too busy drooling to say anything constructive. Oh yeah, you look gorgeous in your pictures!

And OBAMA BETTER WIN. -

Oh wow, you look gorgeous! Just wow! Uhm, how do you hold a ball in a train station? Just wondering. O_o;
-

Looking gorgeous! Love love love the feathers and the makeup!
-

Eina: Lol it was a huge transport centre place. It's funny cause we'd be walking around in grand dresses and people boarding the trains are just looking at us with faces thinking wtf...
-

Like everyone else has already mentioned: You look amazing!
I was also quite sceptical before the first theme-party-thing at uni, but it's amazing how different it is compared to high school..

You look gorgeous!! The red suits you very well.

Good luck with your exams. I'm gonna have seven of them so I'm pretty much terrified.
I'd so do those luxurious desserts!!!
